Al-Fārābī’s Conception of Music Theory as the Universal Science of Melody

چکیده
Abstract Al-Fārābī conceived of music theory as a universal science melody whose task is to determine the whole range what musically possible. It does not restrict itself codifying conventions any particular musical idiom. In this, it akin logic – all things thinkable, which reduce grammar given natural language.
